Review: Nightsteppaz - Getting Into The Groove (Inc. Bushwacka! Remix) (Vibe Me To The Moon)

Can you believe Nightsteppaz has not only got into the groove, he's got Bushwacka! on the remix - that's worth another '!' 

After Franck Roger's 'Can U Believe' EP (see review HERE) turned up on Nightsteppaz' own 'Want Me' with a remix (see review HERE), speculation was rife as to who would be next on the label's hit list.

Well, I didn't think it would be the Bushwacka! half of the famed Layo & Bushwacka combo that ruled the decks at the (in)famous London club, The End that started in the mid 90s in central London and as a duo had countless inclusions on compilations both as artists and DJs.  

The original version is very late-night groove only for Bushwacka! to take us back to the dayz of the air-raid siren as "the drums and bass are more bubbly and bouncy to get the floor popping" - it really feels like it's primordial acid rave house.  It might be underground but it's great.

I remember when The End ended as I used to pass through the Midtown area London at that time.  It was an interesting time for London clubland as the 'CBD' of of night time clubbing moved from the bright lights to the grubby other side of the Euston Road in the planning  blighted area that became home of the new hot clubs The Cross, Bagleys and Egg. 

Thankfully, there's other places now that you can be 'Getting Into The Groove' and Vibe Me To The Moon is your place to start.

Review: Logo Alloy & Zam T - Love Odyssey EP (Vibe Me To The Moon)

After the recrent Atjazz tour to South Africa, everyone's at it and for very good reason when you hear Logo Alloy & Zam T's 'Love Odyssey' EP.

Both Logo Alloy and Zam T have been working as producer/DJs on numerous local label's having a love of house of the Master at Work, DJ Spinna, Terry Hunter and the like.  So it's of no great surprise that Vibe Me To The Moon's DJ Nightsteppaz was so quick to sign this one up.

On a four track EP, 'Care For Me' with a soulful vocal, the instrumental 'Goin Nowhere', the stompin' 'Let's Go' that's got killer organ and some dubby space rotation on the grove and finishing up with jazz-funky vibes of 'Don Go Stay'.  All are that bit different from each other but then they all are as much New York, Chicago, Detroit as they are Jo'Berg, Cape, Bloemfontein, etc.  

what an addition to Vibe Me To The Moon Records after recent releases with well known names like Demarkus Lewis ('Love Still Lives' EP - see review HERE) and Franck Roger (on the remix - see reveiw HERE) but if your missing unofficial Roy Ayers remixes, you'll need 'Don Go Stay' in your collection.

All four tracks will be ready for club or beach as the summer warms up for the best part(y) of the year.

Review: Demarkus Lewis - Love Still Lives EP (Vibe Me To The Moon)

When DJ/Producer Demarkus Lewis isn't running his own Grin Music label, there's plenty of other labels that he's been on in the past 25 years that want him back so it's a big deal to welcome his return to Vibe Me To The Moon for DJ Nightsteppaz. 

After Nightsteppaz's 'Want Me' (along with a Franck Roger remix - see review HERE) plus Mr. Franck Roger's own 'Can U Believe' EP (see review HERE) on Vibe Me To The Moon, DJ Nightsteppaz has reached out to another prolific producer for 'Love Still Lives EP', Demarkus Lewis.

Lewis, described as a "Seasoned House favourite", has got his Vibe Me To The Moon follow up to 'Listen & Understand' (from 2022) that is full of love as it's title indicates with tracks 'Touch My Love', 'Cold Heart' and 'Love Still Lives'.

The cold (heart) vocal efx are warmed up by the synth pad, particularly on 'Love Still Lives' and the uptempo bounce of 'Touch My Love'.    

All three tracks are perfect for any club but if you need a winner for the weekend, 'Touch My Love' is it.

Released the week after the summer solstice, this is a hot one for the dancefloor - you'll love it.

Review: Nightsteppaz - Want Me (with Franck Roger Remix) (Vibe Me To The Moon)

Can you believe Franck Roger is back with Vibe Me To The Moon with a remix of 'Want Me' by the Nightsteppaz? 

After Franck Roger's 'Can U Believe' EP (see review HERE) on his Vibe Me To The Moon debut so it's no huge surprise he's back with U.S. label that was started up in 2017 by DJ Nightsteppaz. 

The title track 'Want Me' does extactly what it says on the tin, with 'Lonnie Liston Smith' space synths vs. 80s deep space house with big vocals that resonate from New York, Chicago and San Francisco to the beaches of the Balearics.  

I know what your thinking - is there a dub version?  You're right, there's the Frank Roger remix version and the Franck Roger Dub!  And a remix in Mr. Rogers hands means 'Want Me' becomes and almost different animal, staying on the Med coast with Speedo shaped electric guitar for big hair funky-riffs.

All three versions are perfect for any club but if you need a winner for the weekend, this is it.
