It wasn't that long ago I was saying hat it's it hard to follow in the footsteps of Prins Thomas and if you're reading this you'll know exactly what I men as the Prince of Discomiks is back; and he's 'Feeling Wide'.

After the collab of FSQ, Moniquea & XL Middleton with the original 'Feeling Wide' (see review HERE), Prins Thomas turns his attention form having a sex disco with Trip Tease & Alain Vice's (see review HERE) and gets onto feeling long with his trademark 'Diskomiks' quality.

NYC centric FSQ (Funk, Style, Quality) your Norse disco-royality, Prins gets down for some cosmic, house, jazz, psychedlic rock, Italo, disco headspace to displace 80s punk-funk with dreamy "Balearic breeze" that sits on Latin percussion as:-

Feeling Wide (Prins Thomas Discomiks) 9:42
Feeling Wide (Prins Thomas Discodub) 8:48
Feeling Wide (Prins Thomas Discomiks Instrumental) 9:42
Feeling Wide (Prins Thomas Discomiks Radio Edit) 3:42

And once you hear the Diskodub, you'll want a diskodub of all your favourite tracks as its "layered with extra luminous, sugary chords over echo-drenched and dubby low ends"

Moniquea's vocals balances out the dub and instrumental version to what will be the sound of 2026!

Appaulse for this San Francisco funk up with a cast of thousands on this 3-track EP.   Well, "thousands" is an exaggeration but this host of friends got together and put together 'Brand New' as they've never met before.

In the Bay's Area we have XL Middleton with the voice of MoFunk, Moniquea plus Soul Clap's Charles Levine, FSQ's Chuck Da Fonk; you'll recall FSQ's 'Freak Out For Fitness' (see review HERE).

Moniquea's big house vocal on 'Brand New' is closely matched by XL Middleton's piano-Ital-meets wailing synths.

There's quite a bit of gospel going on at the moment and Soul Clap loves to celebrate gospel roots, out of NY and NJ (Ed. stay tuned for a monster compilation news out of New Jersey coming HERE soon and check the new Megatronic 12" HERE).

We know FSQ are fit with Soul Clap (see review HERE) and it's a good job they are as 'Feeling Wide' goes to a different time when post-punk-funk-disco could get into national charts and Moniquea handles it with the same ease; with hints of synths to George Clinton's early eighties 'Atomic Dog', this just gets better and better with a low-slung Caserta dub verson!

What with the instrumentals, that a heady package in itself but you've also go and absorb the Charles Levine remix of a track called 'Red Light' as it's a warning for all Californian underground sideshow car culture fans; and big at Detroit's Movement this year: full throttle murder in the house.
