Review: Gastek & L.D.F. feat. Dmitri SFC - 'Iremember' [Gari Romalis / Javonntte] (Morris Audio)

"All night, by the bassline" you'll be dancing to 'Detroit Mixes' on the new EP on Morris Audio as 'Iremember' gets the Gari Romalis / Javonntte treatment.

Already off to a fine start for the new year, Wearing Shoes' 'In The Mist' EP (see review HERE) but this month sees them remembering the 2012 release on 12" by Gastek & L.D.F. on the 'Citysport Edition' with remixes that time by Washerman on a 'garage tip' and Demetrio Giannice.   

This time round, we remember house soundsystem culture - 3 turntables, 4 bags of records .... dancing all night - in a Detroit way.

The original version has certainly been synth-pumped up as the Gari Romalis Electronix Remix and there's two variants of Javonntte; 'Ultra Mix' (the vocal edit) and 'Demo Edit' (the dub mix).

If you remember 'Detroit', you'll love this love letter to the dancefloor/radio waves on the edge of the vastness of electronic great lake sounds and all set for MOVEMENT!

Review: Wearing Shoes - In The Mist EP (Morris Audio)

New year! Time to wear some new dancing shoes with Morris Audio's 'In The Mist' EP.

With the ride that is the Chicago Loop on 'This Is Citi Beat' EP (see review HERE) (via Citi Beat) and gone Böhm with 'Country' (see review HERE), Wearing Shoes (aka Alfonso Boltone) who has appeared on Closer To Truth, Hustler Trax, Apparel and recently Yore Records (the most recent home of ReKab who passed last year, RIP) starts this year with a 3-tracker EP.

Whilst the inspiration might be in the mists, it's definitely quite a bit dreamy/elsewhere, like the piano focused 'Love Is Real' before the jazz organ and soulful vocals make it a winner.  An you might guess where 'Under The Strobes' is going from the title and with its vocal hook and loop, it just gets bigger like an accelerating train.

If 'Love Is Real' is the addictive one, the title track is the one that's more likely to hit the dancefloor/radio waves first in what will be another big year for Alfronso and Morris Audio.

Reviw: Böhm - People Communicate EP (Morris Audio)

Laurent Garnier is still a fan and here's another EP that shows us why as Böhm communicates with people!

It's been a little while since we got on the Chicago Loop via Citi Beat and the 'This Is Citi Beat' EP (see review HERE) and regular readers will know that any track called 'Train Ride' is going to get our attention in the YATM office!

But 'Crystal 727' goes one further in the Techy-old skool house and there's a bit of a New Order bass, a bit Italo keys and some very old skool jazz-funk whistle blowing that is just magic!  Or is that a train guard blowing his whistle? 

The other two tracks, being 'Country' and the title track he just as much fun and the perfect introduction to Böhm.

PS. You might have guessed from the oranje artwork, Böhm is Dutch.
