Not a jazzy cover version of The Specials classic destopian 'Ghost Town' (12th June, 1981), but a brand new 'Ghostown!'
Yoni Mayraz (piano) and Tenderlonious (flute) have produced a post-Bruk jazz bouncer. 'Ghostown!' that remarkably fits in nicely with Flying Moth's remix of 'Intentions' by Max Sinàl & KingCrowney Feat. Liv East (coming out next week - see review HERE).

Wherever you are this release is perfect for 'Wherever You Are' - what'd mean they taken their time? Urbs & Cutex are on their way with this 15-track album, 'On Our Way'.
'Wherever You Are' is still perfect for the summer park strolls with echoes of Bob James and rap wy New York MC, T.R.A.C. (who has worked with Visioneers). In fact, the mostly instrumental album has a lot of 'Marc Mac presents Visionneers' jazzy-beats quality about it.
In addition to the dreamy 'Bird Of Paradise' and 'Indian Summer' (Ed. what no sitar!), 'Make It Real' and the title track is full of the summer haze of jazz horn and it's very chill-hop West Coast throughout; perhaps 'Recognize' could be a West Coast with Cuts and 'bone (love it), a bossa 'Watch Out' and 'Lovegod'.
Urbs & Cutex (aka David Schuller and Paul Nawrata) have expanded their downtempo 'Peace (Talks!) & Love' hip-hop theme with tracks like 'Bubbles', 'Not An Angel In The Sky' featuring beatiful flute (at 6 minutes long - in fact, it's great to see such an album with many tracks over 3 minutes long in the 4/5 minutes range) and Compost's sub-label, Beat Art Department, is an ideal podium to host this album and the timing for a 'new' Austrian "Kruder & Dorfmeister" couldn't be better timed.

Georgie Sweet's debut album on First Word Records is out now after her date with Gilles Peterson on he's Worldwide FM show, 'I Swear To You', who could resist that album cover?
Following the singles 'The Ones We Loved' / 'Bedsheets' (see review HERE) and 'Smaller' / 'All That We Were' (see review HERE), Georgie’s sophomore album 'I Swear To You' is here.
P.S. Don't forget the debut album, 'Misunderstood', which also features Marc 'Heat' Rapson that was released on Futuristica Music with collaborations with DJ Simon S, Deborah Jordan and K15!
Haven't we all Hifi! 'Waiting For The Sun' is now with us ready for the summer equinox as Extended, Acapella, Sunset Club, Sunrise Reprise!
Hifi Sean has been working on his own Plastique Recordings, most recently with collaborations with David McAlmont, he of McAlmont & Butler fame), but I think we'll find 'Waiting For The Sun' to be this years' festival anthem - particularly suited to all things Peterson from Sete to We Out Here).

Bazook your ouzo shots, this is Ouzo Barooka!
Only having just recovered from the synth wizardry of Romano's debut LP ‘Güle Güle’ (see review HERE), it's time to go even more Batove (Ed. is that possible?)
This is a project led by Uri Brauner Kinrot, a multi-instrumentalist who has a long track record of promoting groups and collectives in this area of the Mediterrean; the title track and 'Layla' even makes you think that the fuzzed out guitar could be hip.

Coco Chatru Quartet's 'Future' was a taste of things to come as this summer, the follow-up album 'Limbokolia' is released!
Party breaks and heavy funk is what The Mighty Mocambos are all about and they've turned up with a new album on, 'A Higher Frequency'!
If you think you know The Mighty Mocambos, believe the news that 'A Higher Frequency' is "Outernational funk, soulful jazz, cinematic textures and psych-flavored breaks and beats…" so much so, these guys have gone from raw to fully baked (Ed. shouldn't that be 'break-ed'?)
